A small utility and downstairs WC, rebuilt from the brickwork
Worthing, West Sussex
This was a small space that needed some serious attention. When we first arrived, the room was in very poor condition and had to be taken right back to the original brickwork before we could start again properly.
We built bespoke utility cabinetry to house the new boiler, washing machine and tumble dryer, including a really useful pull-out shelf for the washing basket when unloading the dryer.
During the renovation we discovered that the area behind the existing toilet was actually an old doorway. Rather than simply covering it back up, we used the space to house a concealed WC cistern, giving us a much cleaner, seamless finish alongside a compact cloakroom basin.
A great example of what can be achieved in one of the smallest rooms in the house. What was an awkward, tired space is now a smart and genuinely useful utility and WC that will work for the family for years to come.
